Assessments for NDIS
We offer a range of assessments to assist people understand their support needs in more detail; to help with planning to meet individual goals, to provide evidence when making an access request to the NDIS, or for NDIS plan reviews.
Functional assessments
A functional capacity assessment can offer information essential to planning the supports necessary to meet NDIS goals, to identify gaps in current supports and provide recommendations, or to demonstrate a need for increased funding. We use a comprehensive assessment process to understand the functional impact of disability; as well as strengths, challenges and improvements or decline in ability for independence across life domains.
Cognitive assessments
Using comprehensive clinical testing to assess ability across cognitive domains, an IQ assessment can provide key information in the understanding and support of a person’s cognitive strengths and challenges, important for planning the types of supports that will have a more positive outcome for the person in relation to achieving their goals.
Assessment of Intellectual Disability
A functional capacity assessment, cognitive assessment and gathering of relevant history are combined to assess whether an individual person meets diagnostic criteria for intellectual disability.
Dementia
This screening process uses a tool specifically designed for people with intellectual disability as a valuable way to gather information when there are concerns about early signs of cognitive impairment or functional decline. The screening outcomes identify a baseline that can be re-evaluated a number of months later to better consider these changes. The information is compiled into a comprehensive report which can be used by the person’s support team, carers, allied health professionals and specialists to plan and provide identified supports.
psychological therapy
We also have a broad range of psychologists that provide therapy for NDIS participants. We see adults, children, adolescents and couples under the NDIS. We match people with the right style of support.
All our psychologists have experience supporting people with disability and we understand the NDIS system. We work together with participants, carers, support coordinators and other professionals to ensure that the work is collaborative.
