My interest in psychology started when I was a teenager, seeking to understand my own experiences of anxiety and depression. From my own lived experience, and from what I have witnessed in my practice, I strongly believe that psychotherapy has the power to make profound and positive impacts on people at all stages of their life.
I provide a safe and judgement-free space to ensure that people feel heard, understood and accepted. I am always conscious to adapt my therapeutic approach based on a person’s specific needs and goals.
I use the therapy space to facilitate an exploration of problems, needs, values and desires. I’m committed to helping people better understand their thoughts, feelings and behaviours; and to support them by building on their strengths and providing the tools to create positive change.
In my practice I take a person-centered, trauma-informed and attachment-based approach; in conjunction with specific training in the following psychological therapies:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR)
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Psychodynamic approaches
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
I see adults and adolescents (16+) and my main areas of work include people presenting with anxiety disorders (generalised anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, phobias, social anxiety and health anxiety), depression (mood problems and major depressive disorder), trauma, chronic stress, pain, grief & loss, relationship difficulties, addiction and ADHD.
I am also particularly interested in working with young men; to help them navigate the challenges of a quickly evolving world and to establish a stronger sense of meaning and identity.
Outside of work I enjoy getting out in nature, yoga, cooking, reading and doing all things creative.
